Advent Calendar Prompt Builder
There are so many ways to make an advent calendar your own. Pick yours here and I'll write a Claude Code prompt that helps you plan doors your readers will want to open, then builds the calendar once you've signed off on them.
About your site
The hardest part of an advent calendar is coming up with doors people want to open. That starts with your blog's theme and who reads it. A few words each is plenty, and you can leave any of these blank. Claude will ask.
How many doors?
Every door is something you'll plan and fill, so pick a number you can keep up with.
When do doors open?
A new door opens at midnight in
If someone misses a day, can they still open that door later?
What goes behind the doors?
Pick every kind you'd like to mix in. Claude will use these when it drafts door ideas for you.
A door that's only a link to one of your posts feels like homework. I ruled those out on mine. If you keep them, the prompt caps them at a few and the rest of the doors give readers something on the spot.
Discount codes need an end date set in your shop or checkout. The calendar can only decide when a code shows up, not when it stops working.
Pick at least one kind of door.
Do you want to collect email addresses with your calendar?
Can people peek at future doors?
On mine, a locked door reaches the page as just its number and "not open yet." What's inside only gets sent once that day has started somewhere in the world, and the first place a new day starts is UTC+14.

Your Claude Code prompt
Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan (Pro is $20 a month, or $17 a month billed yearly). Open it in a new, empty folder and paste this in. It asks about your blog and readers first, drafts door ideas, and waits for your OK before it builds anything.
Your SKILL.md
Save it as ~/.claude/skills/advent-calendar/SKILL.md and Claude Code picks it up. Then ask it to "plan my advent calendar" whenever you're ready, this year or next.
